Hi Pat! How was your appointment this morning?
2:29 PM
check-in
Patient:
Appt with my surgeon was great. He changed bandage too.
3:05 PM
Agent:
How did it look under the bandages?
3:09 PM

Patient:
He said it looked great. He only had a large one bandage which is fine w me. Also said that I could shower on it. I just ordered shower seat.
3:15 PM
Agent:
That’s great! I would advise for you to wait for your next appointment with Jacob to get in the shower.

Okay.
5:39 PM
1/25/2023
Agent:
Good Morning Pat! How is your hip doing today?
12:12 PM
check-in
Patient:
No pain and doing well. Jacob has soar throat today and off, so I will continue to do phys therapy by myself as instructed and assisted by my friend.
12:24 PM
Agent:
Oh no! I hope he feels better soon. I'm happy your friend is able to help you. Did you receive your shower chair yet?
12:42 PM
check-in
Patient:
Not yet but expecting to receive it from Amazon today. It is likely to be constructed though.
12:44 PM
Agent:
Will your friend be able to help with that?
12:45 PM
check-in
Patient:
I am not sure. I have to see.. I have been using sits bath (doesn't touch wound) and towel to clean my body & shampooed in sink a few days ago.
12:48 PM
Agent:
That's great since you have to wait at least 6 weeks to be able to soak the wound (like a tub bath or swimming pool). They also sell some shampoo caps in the pharmacy that you don't have to rinse your hair in the sink, if you find using the sink for your hair challenging.
12:51 PM
Patient:
Thank u for info. A very quick shampoo in kitchen sink was minimum effort.
1:15 PM
Agent:
Thankfully it wasn't too much effort. What have you been working on as far as physical therapy?
1:25 PM
Patient:
Hi. It’s easier to send these than text. These 2x / day.

6:33 PM
Patient:
Also staircase up/down. ( not everyday)
6:34 PM
Agent:
That paper helps tremendously. I thought he just showed you the exercises and you remembered them. How did it go today?
6:35 PM
check-in
Patient:
It went well as my friend supported me of some difficult ones: 1. Straight leg raise and 2. Supine hip abductor (w/o elastic band)
6:38 PM
Agent:
I am so thankful that you have your friends able to help you. What would you do without them!
7:44 PM
Patient:
Well she had to go home for evening. I have a question. Do bruises move towards lower leg as it recovers? I saw big bruises on back of my thigh last week to this week but the bruise are now behind my high calf and back of my ankle.
7:48 PM
problem
Agent:
Do you have any pain with the bruising as well? Did the one on the back of your thigh get better?
8:06 PM
Patient:
I have no pain and bruise on back of thigh is gone a lot.
8:08 PM
Agent:
I can let the team know. Is your whole leg bruised now?
8:09 PM
check-in
Patient:
No. I have a very little bruise on back of thigh now . Like I said It seems it moved from thigh to back of calf and ankle.
8:13 PM
escalation
Agent:
Good evening. Pat is reporting bruising throughout the rest of her leg with the original bruising on the hip improving. She reports no pain with the bruising but is concerned since it is spreading. Mainly on the calf and back of ankle.
8:14 PM
Agent:
I’ve let the team know and will let you know when someone gets back to me. If you have sudden pain, redness, or swelling in your leg let me know right away.
8:15 PM
Patient:
Yes but I have none of those.
8:16 PM
Agent:
Good and it should stay like that but I do want to let you know what to look out for.
8:17 PM
Clinic orthopedic:
Is she able to send a picture?
8:23 PM
Agent:
Can you send me a picture so I can send it to the team?
8:24 PM

12:21 PM

12:24 PM

I'm checking with the team to see if we can get a status on Jacob, or schedule another physical therapist. I should hear back shortly.

1/27/2023
Agent:
Good Morning Pat! Did Jacob go or send another therapist?
11:33 AM
Patient:
Terry is coming today about 11:30.
11:35 AM
Agent:
That's great! How did it go yesterday doing the exercises on your own?
11:41 AM
check-in
Patient:
It's good.
11:44 AM
Patient:
Some days I have more energy but a bit less like today.
11:49 AM
Patient:
I guess it varies everyday.
11:50 AM
Agent:
It is like that after surgery. Just take advantage when you do have energy so that when you need to rest you can without worrying that you didn't do much.
11:54 AM
Patient:
Good advice...thank u.
11:55 AM
Agent:
Of course 😊 remember to listen to your body, that is the most important part in the healing process.
12:13 PM
Patient:
I feel the massage may make me feel good. Is it okay to massage lightly my body except left hip & leg?
12:42 PM
Agent:
I would say wait until at least 6 weeks from the surgery date just to be safe.
2:15 PM
Patient:
Ok
3:16 PM
Agent:
How did the session go with Terry?
3:18 PM
Patient:
Really good. She will return tomorrow.
3:19 PM
Agent:
That's great. I hope Jacob feels better soon but I am happy someone else was able to help you today.
3:53 PM
Patient:
What does Jacob have?
6:26 PM
Agent:
I'm not sure specifically.
6:27 PM
Agent:
I am not sure but it is best for you that you have someone else while he is not feeling well.
6:33 PM
Patient:
Can you just assign Terry for me until therapy ends? Though Jacob is good, I will have to be extremely careful not to contract corona or flu now. I am so careful who comes to my house. Besides, Terry is good too.
6:37 PM
question
Agent:
Let me send that request for you.
7:09 PM
Agent:
Pat prefers PT with Terry as Jacob is ill and she is afraid to get sick too
7:11 PM
Clinic:
Noted. Terry is assigned to Pat until Jacob is completely symptom free
8:30 PM
Agent:
Jacob will not be returning until he is completely symptom free. Terry is assigned to you for now.

1/29/2023
Patient:
Please communicate & confirm that Terry will return on Mon. She indicated otherwise yesterday.
3:18 PM
problem
Patient:
Should I say she was not aware of it as it was outside her area.
3:19 PM
Agent:
Let me check for you.
3:20 PM
Agent:
There seems to be some confusion, Pat is expecting Terry on Monday, but Terry said she wasn't coming
3:21 PM
Clinic orthopedic:
Terry is off on Mondays. We're checking on Jacob. If he's well, he'll come
3:58 PM
Agent:
Terry doesn’t work Mondays but someone reached out to Jacob to see how he is doing. If he is feeling better, he will call you later today.
4:02 PM
resolved
Patient:
What does he have? Can you share? If corona or flu, it's too soon to be near a patient who has had deep operation.
4:05 PM
question
Patient:
Or can Terry come on Tuesday?
4:06 PM
question
Agent:
Please have someone call Pat about her PT. She's nervous about all the changes. Thanks
4:07 PM
Agent:
Unfortunately, like for patients there is the HIPAA law where we cannot ask about or provide that information about staff. I am sure as a healthcare provider he is taking appropriate measures to ensure your safety as well as the other patients he services.
4:08 PM
Agent:
I’ve requested someone from management to give you a call tomorrow morning to further discuss your concerns. If I were in your shoes, I would ask all the same questions that you are which is why I am requesting for you to speak with someone that can provide more information regarding staff illnesses during this time.
4:26 PM
Patient:
That will be fine. Though I replied to Jacob, please have someone call me tomorrow morning.
4:59 PM
1/30/2023
Agent:
Good morning Pat. Did someone call you?
12:41 PM
check-in
Patient:
No. But I communicated with Jacob, and I requested him either this afternoon or tomorrow depending on his availability. Otherwise Wednesday be fine as I continue to do by myself as instructed 2x /day.
1:15 PM
Agent:
When is he supposed to confirm when he will go?
1:18 PM
check-in
Patient:
He requested to come this morning, but I had phone conf to take care about tax so I requested tomorrow but he may have other schedule or fixed appointment for tomorrow. I don't know how therapists dispatched or schedule. If not possible, Wed be fine.
1:27 PM
question
Agent:
Let me check for you.
1:46 PM
Agent:
Who's doing PT for Pat?
1:46 PM
Clinic orthopedic:
Jacob's out for the week, so Terry.
1:46 PM
Agent:
I just received confirmation that Jacob will be out until next week and Terry will complete your sessions this week so expect to hear from her for now.

I will forward what Jacob's text to me otherwise.

9:25 AM

Hi Pat. You are making great progress! It has been almost one month since your surgery. How is your leg feeling?
12:03 PM
Patient:
My leg is healing good. I saw the skin of lower leg has been peeling. Also I've had constipation for a couple of days so I took 2 pills of senna last night and had a movement this morning. I have been having a bit of nausea for a few days.
12:16 PM
problem
Patient:
I drink a lot of water
12:17 PM
Agent:
Sometimes if you are constipated you can have some nausea but I am happy to hear the senna works. Try to take it for a few days so you can avoid the constipation again.
12:21 PM
Patient:
Thanks

12:21 PM
Agent:
How are your therapy sessions with Jacob going?
12:28 PM
Patient:
Good. I walked this community without cane or walker with him and also staircase using left leg as well on Wed. Also using some weight on leg lift.

12:37 PM

12:38 PM

No pain on leg raises except maybe 1 at 9th or 10th
12:39 PM
Patient:
If I rub they fall off. I will be in shower now.
12:41 PM
Agent:
Okay, let me know if it is still there after the shower.
12:45 PM
Patient:
Mostly gone… Kinda like snake shedding….🤣
1:46 PM

Good morning Pat. Did you have issues with dry skin before having surgery?
1:04 PM

Agent:
In any case, just be mindful of the soap being used and try to stay hydrated. We don't suggest creams/lotions since it is the surgical leg and reactions can occur

Hi Pat. How are you today?
1:28 PM

1:30 PM
check-in
Patient:
I talked with him yesterday. I will make an appt.
2:01 PM

That would be good so he can check why you are feeling this way. Maybe you need your medication adjusted as is common when people take medications for many years.

Thanks for your concern!

I’ve heard it can happen sometimes and it usually goes away once the swelling is gone. Has this caused you increased discomfort?

Agent:
It should but just bring it up again when you see the doctor next time to make sure he is aware that it is affecting you.
